SCCM Config Manager 2012 - Deploying Windows 8.1 to a Latitude 10

We have recently been having an issue deploying Windows 8.1.

 

Windows 7 deploys absolutely no problem but it crashes at around 70% when deploying Windows 8.1.

 

I have checked drivers, checked network access accounts, permissions. Running out of ideas.

Is the 8.1 task sequence just a copy of the 7 one with a different os wim? Are you building an 8.1 image or are you deploying an already captured image?

There are a couple of lines of interest...

0x80072efe = "The connection with the server was terminated abnormally"

 

Could you provide the IIS logs from around the same time as you were running this TS, they may point you in the direction of the problem.

 

Couple of other things.. When deploying Windows 7, is it on the same switch (and switch port - to rule out a physical network issue) as when you try and deploy Windows 8.1, are you running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU3?

We are deploying an already captured image. A clean version of Windows 8.1.

Is your SCCM server on a VM? If so I might know what it is, we had very similar issues.

Yes! it is! what are your thoughts?

Is it a VMware machine? Is the Nic in the VM a E1000E?

It's HyperV, as is the network adapter. Hope that makes sense. Haven't been working here long so just getting used to everything

basically SCCM has issues with the E1000E Nic. Gave me the same issues. Not sure if Hyper-V uses the E1000E?
