Trapper Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Now VirtualBox supports WDDM drivers to accelerate the fancy stuff?
synaesthesia Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Moved to Vbox for everything ages ago. I liked Workstation but haven't seen a pressing need for it for ages.
gshaw Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The only time I've had to use VMWare over Virtualbox was to test some PXE boot functionality and certain virtual appliances that wouldn't run properly in Virtualbox. In that scenario I just used the freebie VM Player and lived without snapshot functionality.
tommej Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Had issues with virtualbox and webcams - vericool, don't ask. Which only seem to work with VMware player/workstation.
themightymrp Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I switched to using the Hyper-V part of Windows 8.1 - it's been great so far
Arthur Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I currently use VMware Workstation, although I think I might switch to Hyper-V since my PC is running Windows 8.1 Pro and the hypervisor drivers are included with Windows.
free780 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Vbox just causes issues. Switched to vmware player which supports uefi amongst other things.
Stark Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Hyper-V on 8.1 here, have used Virtbox on linux though without issue.
