ok how do you make it so english keyboard did check in sys prefs and say keyboard is europe but the @ and " are wrong way around.

 

also anyway of getting the windows key on pc keyboard to be assinged as the mac key

@Russdev: The Mac keyboard has the " and @ in the opposite places to the PC ones - could be your problem. The € is on the 2 key as opposed to the 4 plus there's a few other subtle differences.

Anyway, that sillyness over with, here's the real answer.

 

1. Select System Preferences from the Apple menu. The System Preferences window will appear.

2. Click on the International icon and the International preference panel will appear.

3. Click on the Input Menu tab a list of all keyboard layouts will appear.

4. Check the keyboard layout of your choice and close out of System Preferences. A flag will appear in the menu depicting the keyboard layout currently being utilized by the Operating System.

5. To change your keyboard layout click on the flag icon and select the keyboard layout you wish to use.
