PaulDevall Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) Have had a few error messages attempting to attach a new borough wide FMS DB to a school we have just taken on. The long and the short of it is that our DB was created in an R2 environment and the school is still in SQL 2008 Express. What is the easiest and quickest upgrade path to get to R2....... PaulDevall Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 Have suggested that already. They already have SIMS 7.154 running and the Head doesn't want "any disruption" when we install FMS in the same instance. My idea was to install FMS in a new R2 instance and then migrate both to 2012 at a later date once they are happy that it all works.
matt40k Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Is this the only FMS database? Could you get away with installing FMS on SQL2012, then migrate SIMS later?
PaulDevall Posted March 6, 2014 Author Posted March 6, 2014 I think that may be only way around it... Thanks.
synaesthesia Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 There will be more disruption when you are FORCED to use 2012 later this year.
