DVI-D Dual Link to two Seporate DVI-D Single Link Moniter Adaptor AMD R9 270

Stupid question on my part but for once my search engine skills are failing.

 

Have a AMD R9 270 which I am sure the docs says support up to six monitors but only two work at a time. It probably requires an active display port connector for at least one but this setup is two dvi and one HDMI.

 

I am thinking that because of the clocking signal it will need a DVI-D dual link to two DVI-D single link adaptor. I have seen this product before but can't seem to find it with search terms. Surely three monitors should not be this difficult and displayport monitors should not merit a 1/3d increase in price.

 

Any help in sorting an easy solution greatly appreciated, I don't want to be recommending active displayport adaptors at $100+ if I don't have to.

I take it you want to use extended desktop rather than duplicated screens. As far as I know this can't be done. Dual Link isn't the same as duel head. The extra pins provide double the data rate so that you can use a much higher resolution monitor. If you are happy with duplicated displays then just search for DVI-D Splitter. You need to use separate outputs to each monitor if you want to use extended desktop. Edited March 5, 2014 by GeekyPete

Are you thinking of a DisplayPort MST Hub? e.g.

As Pete said, you can't convert 1 x (DL) DVI into 2 x (SL) DVI.

Hmm, must have been a special card I was dealing with, As it happens the user does want one DVI output mirrored onto HDMI but with audio etc. so that cold be interesting. I guess I'll keep playing with adaptors to find out what AMD are on about with 6 monitors, they probably mean 2 monitors duplicated three times with y adaptors

You may need an active DisplayPort adapter perhaps?

The DMS-59 connector sometimes gets confused for DVI.
