dany2010 Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Hi, Looking into RDS and watching some vids on RemoteApp. After creating a installation package of a remote app and deploying through GPO the user opens up the app and it looks like it would if installed fully on the local machine. Is it the server or the local machine that carries out the processing? Say encoding a video. If they opened up a file on their memory stick would they have to wait for the file to transfer to the server before the Remote App loaded? Many thanks
computer_expert Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Is it the server or the local machine that carries out the processing? Say encoding a video. It's processed on the server side. Remoteapps basically use RDP but instead of giving you a full desktop, you get just the application window (e.g. powerpoint). If they opened up a file on their memory stick would they have to wait for the file to transfer to the server before the Remote App loaded? Not sure on this point.
