enjay Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 I'm trying to set up some standalone Windows 8 laptops for shared use, including exams. Rather than have to get the laptops back to IT before each exam to disable the Internet, I thought about using Family Safety to block all Internet access for the user, however it doesn't seem to work all time. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, any other suggestions for how I could do this?
FN-GM Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Why make them stand alone? Stick them on the domain and its dead easy to stop the internet for 1 user.
enjay Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Has to be standalone at present, as we're still back in the Dark Ages with S2003/XP, so can't manage Win8. Yes, they need network access, or rather the other users would need network access, just not the exams user.
enjay Posted February 22, 2014 Author Posted February 22, 2014 Sorted! I ran the 8.1 update, and it seems to work now.
