Mavericks Upgrade

Hi,

 

Currently trying to upgrade all my clients to mavericks, server upgraded quite easily, but i am looking at now the clients.

 

I have made a bootable usb drive from the mavericks install, as id prefer to have a clean install instead of upgrading each client.

 

My problem is when install from said bootable usb drive, when choosing the drive to install mavericks to, it only gives you the choice of the 2 external hard drive partitions and not the mac's internal hard drive.

 

Failing this, i will be left with no choice but to download install of one of the clients, upgrade and then take an image via DeployStudio.

 

How one else had this issue? Or if you have upgraded how have you done so?

So now i have tried it from bootable usb and direct upgrade and i have the same problem on both.

 

Installs fine, then when it reboots after install, it hangs loading up again, get a timer and a denied sign on a white background.

 

Searching the internet and i cant find much on this at all.

Did you erase the drive first via Disk Utility?

It sounds very much like your clients are not Mavericks compatible. Got the same result when I tried to install 10.8 on a 2008 Mac Pro that wasn't on the compatibility list, thought I would have a go at it anyway. Net booted and installed, but same screen as you've got was the result.
