SCDPM 2012 - Volume Shadow Copy Service Error - Access Is Denied

SCDPM 2012 gives me the following error when trying to backup a VM on our Hypervisor Host server:

 

An unexpected error occurred on DPM server machine during a VSS operation. (ID 207 Details: VssError:The shadow copy provider had an error. Check the System and Application event logs for more information. (0x80042306))

 

 

When I look at the Windows Event Log I get this message:

 

Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error DeviceIoControl(\\?\Volume{b80d01ad-3307-11e3-93f4-001b2165b6fd} - 000000000000030C,0x0053c06c,000000A53BD52960,0,000000A53BD51950,4096,[0]). hr = 0x80070005, Access is denied.

 

 

From what I understand there is a permission error somewhere, I just dont know if it's a service, registry key or something else?!

This was happening to me while using the iSCSI hardware providers VSS writer.
