access database

hi all i havn't touched access for years but have been asked to create a database that will allow our beahaviour support department to enter details of students that get sent to them and record why they were sent along with dates names etc, prefably imported from active directory and on a drop down list has anyone got something similar already devised or that can point me in the right direction please (PLEASE)
