scotyboy56 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The server is working fine. Is it still running on 1.6.4?
scotyboy56 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 No... Check the first post. The only version I could see in the first post was 1.6.4, unless I'm not reading it correctly.
alunmjones Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 No one else has had an issue connecting. I've updated the server to v7.5.4.9 need to get the DNS Modpack of the AT Launcher, Ive installed all the optional mods, except for one as it wouldn't let me have it, had to download a few files separately from the web. Got to get a chunk loader up now so that my RF battery charges off solar when in not on.
alunmjones Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 @Geoff I'm thinking of changing my minecraft username so it's the same as my forum name, do you need to change anything so I can log in after the change?
jedmondson Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 @Geoff Is the server currently down? Down for me as well .
Geoff Posted March 8, 2015 Author Posted March 8, 2015 (edited) It got slightly confused. I have rebooted the box. Also took the opportunity to upgrade all the packages. I've added a cronjob to have the machine reboot at 4am daily. That should keep things going smoothly. Edited March 8, 2015 by Geoff
jedmondson Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Is anyone else getting crashes when you use any teleporter ? mystcraft or the other one? Also there's 5 interlinking books in the main building to use at the spawn mystcraft telporter.
Geoff Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 Alright, so everyone is done with DNS. So I'm going to redo the server this weekend. This time round it's going to be running FTB Trident. Which is a PvP pack. This also means the server will be public. http://i.imgur.com/imWrFCF.png In Trident, players are thrust into a land well past the brink of war. For as far as you can see, the world around you has been reduced to a smoldering expanse of death and decay. Sharp, craggy hills dot the landscape, carving ravines teeming with tainted water and deadly radiation. What does remain is a small oasis: one filled with plants and wildlife that haven’t succumbed to the poisonous environment. There may be more places like this- land without the deep scars of blight, but you’re not sure of where they might be. For now though, it is here in this tiny paradise that you shall set up your base. However, you’re not alone. Like, you, others have been drawn to this gleaming desert gem. They want what you want. They want what you have. They don’t hesitate to take it. To survive, you have allied yourself into one of three factions: Red, Green, and Blue. Your goal: establish dominance over the opposing teams and secure your victory on the battlefield. You can accomplish this by building up your infrastructure, quickly harvesting resources, and utilizing the very same weapons of war that destroyed this land. The Great Battle is over, but the war has just begun. http://i.imgur.com/SzRud6q.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/ip6Q7iV.png Trident is a PVP-centric modpack and map designed for small to mid-range servers. Players are assigned to one of three teams and tasked with effectively eliminating the other factions while simultaneously protecting their own. Players can gather resources from the main oasis and risk detection by opposing teams, or travel far into the wasteland to see what riches it can offer. In our testing, a typical session lasts roughly a month. Quicker or experience players may have a chance to claim victory in as little as a few days or a few weeks. We have left victory conditions up to the discretion of server administrators, so a run may be completed as soon as heavy weapons are deployed or well after the entire map has been scorched. To that end, I'm going to consider a monthly server reset (on the last day of the month - I'm going to give people what's left of May + June for the first cycle). You can get Trident off the FTB Launcher. Grab it here: Feed the Beast :: Minecraft Modpacks - Texture pack - Maps
Garacesh Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) So, shall we all take the Edugeek-Blue faction, then? I think monthly resets will drive people away, though. If you want a solid userbase, you want to give people a little longer to build up their resources, no? I'm not saying "Never reset" as that ends up with a mafia-sized team who do what they want 'cause nobody can stop them. Maybe bi-monthly? Or maybe I'm just a whiny git and monthly is fine.. Either way I'll poke my head in for a while. Skim-read your post and didn't realise there were solid victory conditions. Ignore me I fell out of love with FTB because A) GPU death and B) just too much stuff I couldn't get my head around. Edited May 22, 2015 by Garacesh
LiamHaith Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 I think I missed something, What would the defined victory conditions be? I'm quite interested in this, if the victory conditions seems suitable.
Geoff Posted May 22, 2015 Author Posted May 22, 2015 (edited) At the moment I'm only going to set a time limit or catastrophic destruction of the terrain or everyone has max tech. Edited May 22, 2015 by Geoff
alunmjones Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 Not been on in a while due to my workload, I won't be on for the next few weeks either got my next Microsoft cert to revise for
Garacesh Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) Still 76.74.200.86? Nope, same as the 2nd iteration, 176.58.117.186 Edited May 25, 2015 by Garacesh
jedmondson Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Well it works for me - joined the blue team - Left a message at our base for whoever is also on it.

LiamHaith Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 I should be jumping on tonight, my username is haith.
Garacesh Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 (edited) A few issues with the server I've noticed.. 1) How do we know what the victory conditions are? 2) NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THE GIANT ZOMBIES 3) You can dig through the boundary wall into the 'normal' world. Edited May 26, 2015 by Garacesh
