[sims] SIMS not pulling ICON and text size from display setting

Hi all,

 

Has anyone had trouble with resolution setting and icon setting not being applied to SIMS. I have a machine where some of SIMS text and boxes have changes to fit the icon size setting where other part have stayed as the set resolution. Is there any way to set icon and front size in SIMS ?

Not sure about this specifically but most problems with text & Icon Size within SIMS are usually caused by the DPI settings of the local machine.

 

If Windows 7 Machine: Right click desktop > 'Screen Resolution' > 'Make Text and other items larger or smaller' > Set to 'Smaller - 100% (Default)

 

Alternatively if you do want a higher DPI i.e. 150% for larger text/icons etc, follow the route above and choose your size, then click 'Select custom text size (DPI)' on the left and untick the 'Use Windows XP style DPI scaling'. This will enable you to have larger fonts etc without the scaling. This also enables you to have a larger DPI without breaking the Census module!

SIMS used to only work best at a fixed res and going too big or small would mean in some modules you would be clicking in the wrong place.

I dont think things have improved much.
