rmusick Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Everyone, I need some help! I am trying to capture windows 8.1 x64 and keep getting errors. It is the latest version of MDT from the Microsoft site. I know the server is working as I just captured a Windows 7 Image right before the 8.1 version. The screen shot of the error is attached. Thanks in advance.
sted Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 what verion of mdt and adk are you using iirc needs to be mdt2013 and that requires newest adk
rmusick Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2013 6.2.5019.0 WAIK 2.0.0.0 Windows ADK 8.1.00.26020
Jamie_Evans Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 Have you tried using DISM? you can (should) run it through either ADK 8.1 or WIN PE 5.0 - that's how I did mine and it worked fine, capture image has always been flakey for me one way or another
Arthur Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 WAIK 2.0.0.0 / Windows ADK 8.1.00.26020 I wouldn't have both the AIK and ADK installed. You only need the ADK.
free780 Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Having the adk and waik installed on the same server/workstation is not supported. Adk 8.1 will capture win 7 fine. You only need the waik if you are deploying vista/xp (shudders). You made need to recreate your boot images after uninstalling waik. Make sure you are using a x86 boot to capture a x86 os and a x64 to capture a x64. You can just use a x86 when deploying unless you have raid drivers that need to be injected upon deployment.
