Windows Phone 8

Have a Nokia Lumia 925, everything ticking along very nicely on the network, but I can't get the store to work, Microsoft help has been useless, am hoping I can get an answer here!

 

Windows 8.x store works fine, but the phone can't connect to the store (I know they are different, but Microsoft swear they aren't), I have been given ports 80,443 to open and make it work, but nothing else, anybody know the URL we need to unblock?

Um, more information maybe. I have a Lumina 920, there is the windows phone store which is an icon on the menu which is the only one available for the phone. Do you mean you can access that via the web interface or are you trying to get to the Windows 8.1 store which is not available on the phones?

 

Are you trying this behind a proxy or on a home or personal data connection?

 

Have you signed in using a windows live ID and have you tried signing that account on via live.com to make sure that it does not need any additional agreements or email verification to continue?

 

Do you get any error messages?

sorry yes, all signed in and working perfectly on a home connection, I just mentioned the computer windows store as MIcrosoft help said they used all the same ports and connections...

 

We have a proxy server, the internet on the phone works, but when I go into the store (Through the menu/tile) I can't connect to anything or download any updates (Even though it will tell me I have some), so it is just the store that isn't working while on school network

Chuck this on a machine Fiddler - The Free Web Debugging Proxy by Telerik then under the phone settings point the wifi proxy to the proxy it makes instead, this should allow you to snoop the traffic and see where it is trying to go without wiresharking a mirror of the wlan interface.
