IE11 - Internet doesnt work with "Enhanced Protected Mode" turned OFF !!!

Hi all,

 

Recently we have upgraded a laptop from Windows 8 to 8.1...

Since then the IE "built in app" works fine, but the desktop IE reports "Proxy Server not responding"

 

If I turn ON "EPM" the desktop IE works, but then some of the site needed use a plugin that isn't supported by EPM!

 

It works fine on my desktop with EPM off? Has anyone please got any suggestions or seen this before?
