global catalog not advertising 1355

Hi Guys

 

I could really do with a hand here,

 

did a domain migration from a very old 2003 server, this 2003 domain had two child domains that were not deleted properly,

 

after migrating to a new 2012 server dc, we are getting the following problems

 

sta-dc2 has not finished promoting to a gc

global catalog not advertising 1355

 

I am sure its to do with those orhaned child domains.

 

I have tried to delete them but with no luck

 

any ideas
