[SOLUS3] - Agent install on a new device via UI: "COM Error"

Seen this a couple of times and it's bugging me as I'm not sure what's causing this error, or what the error even means!

Added a new devices into the SIMS channel of SOLUS3. Added domain admin credentials to get the agent installed. The agent status goes to 'Install Active' and after a few seconds, turns to 'Install failed' and this error is returned:

Any ideas?

We had a COM error on one of out servers. Never managed to figure out what was causing it though. I ended up just installing the Agent manually which sorted it out.

One for Capita I guess.

I have not seen it, but I would guess its something to do with the framework installation phase.

Maybe .Net is corrupt or being refused?

Only thing I can think of from looking at that error message.

I did think that, but .NET4 is already installed and working. :(

@Rawns:

What OS is the device?

Could it be a corrupt WMI?

Here is a link:https://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2009/04/13/wmi-rebuilding-the-wmi-repository.aspx

You will probably find something better but this may help :D

Win 7 Pro. I did think WMI briefly but I;ve not actually tried rebuilding. Usually when WMI is the issue, the SOLUS3 UI will report back that WMI is corrupt which is why I was in two minds about it.

I haven't experienced this problem but it would be good to find out if this is the case, try rebuilding the WMI and let us know yeah?

Cheers :D

Is wmi allowed through the firewall on the *server* too? Unsecapp.exe is mentioned in the solus install instructions and I saw a site where it would error with a similar error until this was allowed.
