Just got a new network to support and they have a whole shelf full of disks that the last tech put on every laptop image.

There is no way that 3/4 of it gets used at least so would like to get a report on all the software installed and if it's been used on any laptop.

Thought spiceworks may do it but not from what I can see.

Anyone know of anything?

I'm dreading the day a laptop needs to install and I've goto create a image.

We dont us SCCM and ive been trying to find a way to do this, even if i have to work on each machine. There is something in programs and features that says last used date but its a column that microsoft put there that doesnt show any information, so its really helpful.

The other way is to stick something like impero on the network. This will report on the top most used software. Ours is main iexplorer.

Nope no SCCM there. It only a tiny ish school.

We have impero and ab tutor at our sites but on limits of licences and also as its classed a different site they wont allow us to install seperate server or anything.

Thinking it might have to be job for the new tech to select a handfull of laptops and desktops from around the school and checking control panel. Dont want to but might need to.

Not yet. Waiting for a staff meeting or a quick chat with the head so we can send out a email.

Just fancied a nice report :)

I've learnt before. If you ask and they say they don't use it you always get moaned at when you remove it because they didn't think they needed to reply.
