thegrassisgreener Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 Hi all, Just installed MacOSX on my powerbook but not when I pulg an ethernet lead in it does not get an IP from DHCP???? It's as if it's not detecting anything... any ideas anyone
FN-GM Posted October 5, 2007 Posted October 5, 2007 does it try to get an IP, you could try different Ethernet Cables or another socket. What is it like with air port?
accura2000 Posted October 12, 2007 Posted October 12, 2007 I turned IPv6 off in the network settings, that got my mac working great. Give it a try
Bestbett Posted January 17, 2008 Posted January 17, 2008 Lot of if's not covered here. Are you getting a light on the switch in the closet to show physical connection? Is the switch configured with MAC security? And is the Ethernet Port on the mac enabled and set to get from DHCP? Also yah always kill IPV6 on the Mac unless you know you need it.
thegrassisgreener Posted January 18, 2008 Author Posted January 18, 2008 Thanks for the reply, but I have got a Macbook now and never had a problem with that, it was an old Powrbook. I think it was a driver issue in the end. thanks
