This may turn into yet another IOS/Proxy moanfest.

 

CM3 is a clould app that our students can use to make their own apps (kinda) for the iPads.

 

In school they can log on using the windows computers and make the app. But they can't load up and run the app in school. If they take the iPad home it works fine. But the app won't work in school even if it has been installed at home.

 

It looks like a proxy issue. We use port 8080 to force everything through the proxy.

Inclusive say:

* The app uses standard HTTP protocol with the HelpKidzLearn

domain. Specifically the web-services are port 80.

* There are no special

sub-domains or other protocols used.

* The app would use the proxy settings

you have as these settings are part of the network connection that is managed by

iOS rather than the app.

 

The iPad can browse to HelpKidzLearn no problem.

 

To me it looks like safari is using the proxy settings that were manually entered and the app is hard coded to use port 80. It doesn't matter that their webserver is port 80 that's what the proxy uses externally.

 

Has anyone else seen this issue?

We use the CM3 app on ipads, and have no issue with it working through our proxy! the port is set to 3128 so I'm not sure what is happening here if you want to p me I can share screen shot of our settings
