fiza Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 We have just started using Papercut as a trial. All seems to be going well but I have just come across user who has (according to papercut) printed 1505 pages in one job. when looking at the printer properties (we have keep printed documents enabled) it states 5 pages were in the document but not how many copies were printed. If papercut is right then it would mean 301 copies!!! I find this hard to believe. It is a HP 2055 network printer hosted on a 2003 print server. Is there any way of finding out how many copies were actually sent to the printer?
fiza Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 According to the user she printed 30 copies of a 2 page document. Something went wrong somewhere!!
Achandler Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Honestly, Papercut usually marks down the number of prints that the driver showed, and it always seems to be correct to me. She might have printer 30 copies of a 2 page document, the problem might be that this looked like 2 pages but was a spreadsheet that was across 5 pages because the print area wasn't set right and she cancelled it when she realised then printed it properly. If a user cancelled a job on the printer it doesn't show as cancelled in Papercut, if the job is cancelled out the queue it is fine. 1

EJWill Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Have you got 'Validate page counts after printing (hardware check)' set on the printer? We had issues with incorrect values being printed due to cancellations and errors until we started using hardware validation. 1
