Projector Remotes

We have an awful lot of projectors in the school and it appears that we have considerably less remote controls for them.

 

Does anyone know if there is a generic remote which can be purchased as a replacement or are we going to have to track down lots of different makes.

 

On a related note, does anyone do anything to secure their remote controls from theft, accidental breakage and user incompetance? Such chain them to the wall, large nail through them, staple them to users, etc?

Same problem here. We need a few "universal" remotes. I've looked at the TV ones but it'd be too different from what they're used to.

There are affordable programmable systems out there (one is called Amadeus) but whether you can code them to do all the functions you need I don't (yet) know. CPC do another system, but I can't recall what it is called. I have one on my desk, but that is at work...

 

I have attached 1.5mm steel wire rope to some of ours, and intend to do the rest through this term. Other end under a washer screwed to the wall/desk/Rotweiller.

I got quoted £80 for a replacement Sahara one.

 

The projector is so sh** it's not worth spending £80 on it.

Yeah - one of ours is a Sahara and likewise, I don't want to spend anything on it att all it's so crap.

£80 for a replacement 8O , I think a nice long piece of steel wire to whip the people that lost them.

 

We didn't need any new projectors / computers / servers this year anyway :x
