burgemaster Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Can anyone please advise? Exchange 2007, outlook 2013. All staff have firstname.surname as their email address but for the old headteacher we added "Headteacher@" and "head@" in ex. management. We have a temp headteacher who was the dept head. They would like the "Head@" email address to come to them now instead of old headteacher. If I remember correctly, its not as simple as just removing the addresses from the old heads account and adding these email addresses to the new headteachers account. Does outlook cache the email address and when they start to type "hea...." it will auto-fill the rest and this will be cached and this email will send to the old head address? I need to get this right as its the headteacher!! Thanks in advance!
Jamman960 Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 once its removed from the old head and added to the new all mail to the address will go to the right place, I've never experienced any issues while doing this - the server handles it all. as a suggestion I'd setup @head/@headmaster as a distribution list, this would make changing heads easier and allow an overlap if the need ever arose. James
burgemaster Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Thanks James. Well let's see how it goes! I did first make a disto group but the head wanted head@ as his reply email.. Thanks again
