Windows update hanging

Hi,

 

I have a brand new Toshiba U920t tablet and after restarting it to install windows update it just hangs:

 

"keep your pc plugged in until this is done. Installing update 1 of 36"

 

It was like this for about 6 hours before I tried to restart it and see if that did anything but it just comes straight back to this screen.

 

I had a search on Google, but found nothing that seems to help.

 

Any ideas?
