2012 r2 and 2008r2 domain with exchange 2007

Has anyone tried upgrading there domain controller that was on windows 2008 r2 to a windows 2012 R2 environment and which has an exchange 2007 attached to there environment (not upgrading a DC with exchange 2007 installed on) what was the outcome

We did an upgrade from 2008 R2 to 2012 when we had a Exchange 2007 installation, both survived intact. Don't know about 2012 R2 though.
