AMLinington Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 A story from my home town in Oz. Yahoo News UK & Ireland - Latest World News & UK News Headlines (Strangely I couldn't find it in the local press.) Oh I how wish this could be applied here in England. You can only stop people knocking on your door and prosecute them if they do by writing to the company and revoking their 'implied right of access' to your property.
Ketlane Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 You can set up a No Cold Calling Zone - need to get Trading Standards to do it, and they need agreement from a majority of households. We have one in our village. It is now an offence for a cold caller not to leave, and also an offence to return. Charity collections are allowed. In our area the Neighbourhood Watch coordinator was the key person in getting things done. See Doorstoppers - Trading Standards Institute
rich_tech Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 wish I could do it with the clowns in our area offering "lovefilm" or "wuaki" stuff, I now resort to just saying no and closing the door on them
