For some reason non admin accounts are able to access c$, d$ shares, without on a 2012 server I recently installed.

I've checked and mirrored settings used on a 2008 and 2003 domain, both of which working fine, prompting the user for non-admin for authenatication.

However the 2012 server is not challenging for authentication, the user can (if so inclinded) create a shortcut to the d$ admin share without challenge authentication.

Help!

What should be the NTFS permissions on the drive?
