Snow Leopard 10.5.8 - Mavericks

Am I right in thinking I can go from Snow Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6.X and then directly to Mavericks? In effect, missing out Mountain Lion.

 

Or do I need to go from Snow Leopard 10.6.X to Mountain Lion, then to Mavericks?

You can go from 10.6 to Mavericks straight away.
