Guest aliv25 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 can anyone help me solve the following problem? a member of staff can log on to her email account but when she tries to view a message it doesnt appear. also the writing changes to 'has been read'. there are no problems with other members of staff. webman: I think that does deserve a new thread... which email client are they using and how is your email server set up? i decided to start one up, now awaiting some replies. we are using a web based email, rm easymail through the LEA.
Guest aliv25 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 the way how the email is setup is by frames. a pane in the top centre to display the email name, sender and date. another pane underneath to display the email when the above is selected. i dont think turning off the pop up blocker will do much.
Domino Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 it depends how you have it set, under options see if she is set to open in new window or not... bloody easymail
Vegas Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 Could be local profile (or roaming), try deleting that. Bloody easymail.......here here
Guest aliv25 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 i tried to click on options but that would just make the email system freeze / crash so theres no way of me clicking on anything. ive even restarted the machine she was working on that didnt work and told her to try on another machine and it still didnt work. i think its got something to do with her account.
Domino Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 hmmm...its a call to RM support then, get them to take a backup of her emails, delete the account, remake it again.
Guest aliv25 Posted September 27, 2007 Posted September 27, 2007 i'll give it a day or two before i try again, maybe it was just bad timing for her.

ChrisP Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Have you tried pressing CTRL+F5 on the client to force an update through the proxy?
plexer Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Does she have yahoo or google toolbars installed? if she does remove them. Ben
Guest aliv25 Posted October 1, 2007 Posted October 1, 2007 a lot of people in the past few days had problems with there email so in the end we've decided that people with problems use google mail instead and link it to outlook. there are no toolbars installed, the permissions were taken off.
