Rawns Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 This is bugging me big time, but not too sure if there is anything I can do about it really. I seem get about 1-2 legit Apple password reset e-mails a day which makes me think someone is clearly trying to hack into my account. In the past year or so, I've become a lot 'smarter' around my passwords and use KeePass to generate and store all my credentials for various accounts. I don't think I have a password now that I actually know! My Apple password is a very long random mix, so hopefully no one will be able to gain access but short of changing the e-mail address my iTues account is linked to, any suggestions how I can try and combat this?
korifugi Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 You've not got an app or something that's trying to elevate access or something have you? Did you install anything extra just before this all started? 1
itgeek1989 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 I use 2 step verification, you could turn that on? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570 1
Rawns Posted November 7, 2013 Author Posted November 7, 2013 (edited) You've not got an app or something that's trying to elevate access or something have you? Did you install anything extra just before this all started? I would not have though so. All the apps are legit ones from the App store and could not imagine any of them forcing a password reset or anything like that? I use 2 step verification, you could turn that on? Apple ID: Frequently asked questions about two-step verification for Apple ID Thanks for pointing this out, I'll get this set up. Edit: Enabled. That's made me feel a bit more secure already. Rawns Posted November 16, 2013 Author Posted November 16, 2013 Cheers chaps, quick update but since enabling 2 step verification, no more change password e-mails.
Domino Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 You password has successfully had a rest then? 1
