timbo343 Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 On our website i am trying to get our pages to display using http://www.domain.com/page. At the moment i have to put .htm on the end of the page for it to display so it results in http://www.domain.com/page.htm. What is it called when you have http://www.domain.com/page without the .htm and how do i configure our pages to do this. Thanks
Willott Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Your need some form of mod_rewrite type thing - depending on your web host depends on what you want - if it's Linux, it's HTACCESS, if Windows there are methods too...
timbo343 Posted November 6, 2013 Author Posted November 6, 2013 Ive just spoken to the hosting company, just waiting for them to email me back with what we have got. I'm guessing its on a windows platform.
Willott Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Wordpress vaguely explain your options - may not have the entire correct code etc, but may assist in directing you: Using Permalinks « WordPress Codex 1
Arcath Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 if its just static HTML files you could as a last resort move them info folder e.g. page.html becomes page/index.html this would then work as http://www.domain.com/page
