GrumbleDook Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 By using a suitable client. iTunes is my preferred client but there are others out there ... A search on Google for podcast clients will take you to several links http://weblogs.about.com/od/podcastreceiversclients/ http://www.podcastingnews.com/topics/Podcast_Software.html http://www.podcastlab.com/podcast_clients/ Just for starters.

GrumbleDook Posted December 4, 2005 Posted December 4, 2005 @russ - Don't forget that it needs to end in .xml for a number of clients.
russdev Posted December 4, 2005 Author Posted December 4, 2005 for those of you who need .xml as end of file give me till tommrow and will post an alt url for you lot... Russ

GrumbleDook Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Wow ... you even sounded exactly how I thought you would. eedddduuuuugeeeeek ;-) How was the bloke talking about the site though? I'll get my coat.
webman Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 Excellent stuff Kevin Was the "Eeddd - - - uuuu - - - geeeeek" likeness to a Dalek intentional? 8)
Geoff Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 minor technical niggle: When you encode mp3's with a bitrate greater than 128kbps there's really no point in using joint stereo. Your better off using full blown dual stereo. Also, as Podcasts are mainly voice, why not stick with mono? Finally a request, can we have an Ogg Vorbis version of the podcast(s)? I'm prevented from using MP3 decoders/encoders on my Linux desktop due to licensing and software patent issues.
kevinmcaleer Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 Excellent stuff Kevin Was the "Eeddd - - - uuuu - - - geeeeek" likeness to a Dalek intentional? 8) I thought it sounded more like a star wars droid! -Kev
kevinmcaleer Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 minor technical niggle: When you encode mp3's with a bitrate greater than 128kbps there's really no point in using joint stereo. Your better off using full blown dual stereo. Also, as Podcasts are mainly voice, why not stick with mono? I used iTunes to convert the AIFF file into mp3. I don't really care if the audio is joint etc, it hardly matters. If it were in mono the theme would sound pants! I'll export the podcast in WAV format next time! lol -Kev EeeeeduuuuGeeeek!
kevinmcaleer Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 So folks, what would you like to hear in the next podcast? I'm open to all suggestions! -Kev
Geoff Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I'll export the podcast in WAV format next time! lol Thats fine. I have plenty of bandwidth. Althought I suspect FLAC would be saner if you want to use a lossless codec.
russdev Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 i will sort out an org vorbis feed later on today... as for stero for now keep it like it is (one less step for us) but will keep an eye and see how it goes... Russ Russ
