Sunnyknight Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 G4S & SERCO are at the top of my list of hated companies in the UK. Both are equally useless. Good story on the BBC site: BBC News - G4S probe after money van hatch left open in Norwich YOUTUBE: Bunch of amateurs! If I was an employee of g4s.... id be looking to leave asap. That company is utter shizzle.
SteveBentley Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 G4S is, of course, what became of Group 4 Security. They of the escaped prisoners a number of years ago. Say no more!
rich_tech Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 they seem to be a persistently poor company, yet our governments bung contracts at them nonetheless, makes you wonder doesnt it.
AngryTechnician Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Same goes for Capita; the number of government IT contracts they incompetently manage is staggering. 1
difinity Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Both also being investigated for fraud. BBC News - Probe of G4S and Serco tagging contracts begins
tech_guy Posted November 4, 2013 Author Posted November 4, 2013 Both also being investigated for fraud. BBC News - Probe of G4S and Serco tagging contracts begins And that's why I hate them.
unixman_again Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 G4S, the company who charged £553m for security at the London Olympics, just a tad over the £282m originally quoted.
LosOjos Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 The figures don't add up on the BBC site: £7.3bn turnover Pre-tax profit: £516m Quarter of turnover relates to government contracts Half of business in Europe Value of government contracts: £394m £394m is nowhere near a quarter of their £7.3bn turnover... Not that I'm defending G4S - I hate them as much as the next logical person - I just hate it when journos seemingly pull figures out of thin air
glennda Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 G4S, the company who charged £553m for security at the London Olympics, just a tad over the £282m originally quoted. TBF fair to them on that one it was the gov who bunged up then happily blaimed g4s.
