Windows lock screen timeout

Not so much how to do it, more a query of how long you set before the unattended system locks.

 

5mins, 10mins, 15mins?

For us it depends on the users / location. 10 minutes most locations such as classrooms. Longer like 30 minutes in offices.

Not allowed to do it at any less than over an hour as it happens in the middle of a class and impacts on the teaching, apparently. The teachers screensaver has a big sign saying "Don't forget to lock your computer"

I have just checked our Group Policy for Staff: Screensaver timeout is set at 1800 seconds keyboard/mouse inactivity [30 minutes] Too long for my liking but it was an achievement to get it set at all let alone for a shorter time.

Well I've set the time out to 20mins at one client, that's the maximum I'll go to... Caught a pupil using a teachers logging session just last week, all because the teacher hadn't locked the computer... Pffffft!!!!

Don't have a specific time set for lockout, but the computers go into standby after 35 minutes (the length of 1 period) so, technically, 35 minutes.

I think there's GPO settings for specific programs. [Like powerpoint]
