Quick question regarding user logins and share permissions

Afternoon,

 

Over the weekend,we are changing our staff log in from alpha to numeric codes. One question was that when the changes have been made in AD editing the usernames, will this filter down to folder permissions or will we have to recreate all our shares?

No, it's filters down. Or, more correctly, the folder permissions are set by GUID which you won't be changing. Windows is just being nice and looking up the current username for that GUID to display in the folder permissions.
