agarabaghi Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 We made some progress today. SCCM 2012 is up and running. Ive set it to discovery the devices in the LABs OU and it has found mt 205 lab machines. Im having an issue installing the client to then allow software push. Here is the error from the Log file. I even tried to manaully install the client by running SMSClientInstall.exe on the local machine. Like This Quote MultiQuote Edit What accounts do you have set under Client Push Installation Properities? You'll find this on the Administration workspace, Site Configuration, Sites, Client Installation Settings, Client Push Installation. The account(s) in there need to be local admins on the machines you are trying to install the client to.
agarabaghi Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 The account we added was the AD admins AD account. If i add my local admin account i should be able to test it?
adamf Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 It needs to an account that is in the local administrators group on the target machines.
agarabaghi Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 I added the AD guy to my Groups > administrator on my local machine and tried the clientpush again and it didnt work...
adamf Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Is it the same account specified on the accounts tab, here -> Site Configuration, Sites, Client Installation Settings, Client Push Installation?
adamf Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 hmmmm... is the windows firewall enabled on the client? If it is, can you disable (or add the appropriate exceptions) to see if that is causing a problem.
agarabaghi Posted October 14, 2013 Author Posted October 14, 2013 maybe that is what is blocking it. my firewall says managed by system admin, what exceptions do i need to add?

agarabaghi Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 It is indeed showing a ccmsetup folder and the ccmsetup.exe is running... how long does it usually take? Shouldnt i see the Client column on SCCM 2012 change from NO to YES under this client machines name?
agarabaghi Posted October 15, 2013 Author Posted October 15, 2013 So i pulled up a new test machine. Found it by discovering the OU it was part of. Disabled the firewall manually, and added the AD admins account as local admin... Ran the client wizard and i see the CCMSetup folder created ... but the log is just sitting here: Execute query exec [sp_CP_SetPushRequestMachineStatus] 2097152204, 1~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.484+240> ======>Begin Processing request: "2097152204", machine name: "SCCM_TEST" $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.489+240> Execute query exec [sp_IsMPAvailable] N'R01'~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.493+240> ---> Trying the 'best-shot' account which worked for previous CCRs (index = 0x0)~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.499+240> ---> Attempting to connect to administrative share '\\SCCM_TEST\admin$' using account 'ROLLINS\WRODRIGUEZ'~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.502+240> ---> The 'best-shot' account has now succeeded 10550 times and failed 4582 times. $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.541+240> ---> Connected to administrative share on machine SCCM_TEST using account 'ROLLINS\WRODRIGUEZ'~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.545+240> ---> Attempting to make IPC connection to share <\\SCCM_TEST\IPC$> ~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.549+240> ---> Searching for SMSClientInstall.* under '\\SCCM_TEST\admin$\'~ $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.555+240> ---> System OS version string "6.1.7601" converted to 6.10 $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.714+240> ---> Unable to connect to WMI (root\ccm) on remote machine "SCCM_TEST", error = 0x8004100e. $$<10-15-2013 10:49:26.733+240> ~'PushClientEvenIfDC' flag is set. adamf Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Is there anything in the ccmsetup folder? Within that there should be a logs folder. Also, does the machine show up as having the client installed in the console and being assigned to a site?
