Xibo on CC3 xp machine for display

Hi, I am trying to get Xibo up and running for one display (for now). I want to run the server and client on one machine, as that is what's available. The machine I have is running XP on RM CC3 and I have a display user setup.

 

I have installed and set up the server without a problem and the client is registered in the options dialog, but when I run the client nothing happens except that the mouse pointer jumps to the corner of the screen (as it is set to in the xibo options).

 

Does anyone know what the issue might be please?

 

Also, how can I enable port 80 on the machine to allow access to the server within the network? It is currently disabled by group policy.

 

Is it going to be a lot of hassle trying to run Xibo on a CC3 machine and would it be better to use something else? I was thinking about an android stick, but I think we will need to run PowerPoint.

Does it have to be a CC3 machine? Can you take off the CC3 stuff and have it just running XP, not on the domain etc?

The CC3 stuff could probably be taken off if that is the best solution. Would there be any issues with having a vanilla machine connected to the network like this? Edited October 12, 2013 by mrdolan

Nope, you can definitely connect bog-standard machines to a CC3 domain, we did it. Obviously things that rely on the RM services won't work, but if it's just for a display I doubt it matters.
