fairm010 Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere, my search-fu isnt great today. I know such a technology exists where you can stick a sticker to a say camera or tablet and you can locate it around school using the WiFi. Has anybody used this and what are their experiences? We are using UniFi Pro AP's. Matt
CamelMan Posted October 11, 2013 Posted October 11, 2013 You could use something like meraki to do it for tablets - you get a google maps location for your devices. Not sure about others devices I'm afraid.
fairm010 Posted October 11, 2013 Author Posted October 11, 2013 I like that idea but- We have Surface RT's, not able to install anything Meraki wise on them as far as I know. We would like something a bit more closer to home (well.. School). Like a location on a school map. Matt
sparky2488 Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 I've used Ekahau RTLS before in a previous job, but most work we did was with RFID tags and proximity sensors on doors to track entry and exit..... very expensive though to install
