Koldov Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Hi All, I have been asked to provide information on our network, firewall, proxy, dns server etc. Obviously I'm a little uncomfortable with this (as I spend enough time making sure this info is safely guarded lol), but the reasons for asking is genuine. One of the questions is: Is outbound TCP/443 permitted on the school’s network? I have to say I have no idea and no idea how to find out! Any suggestions? Kol.
Quackers Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 It would normally or anything that uses SSL to login will not work.
FN-GM Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Easy to find out. Can you go on websites that are https? if so it will be allowed.
jamesreedersmith Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Yes its outbound secure web requests - if this is to do with software etc needing access always specify yes outbound 443 is possible but its subject to a proxy server(if you use one)
