Google Groups filtering with Google Apps 4Edu

I hope I have posted this in the right place?

 

I am investigating using Google Apps4Edu in schools. I am currently looking into Google Groups. Now I know there is some pretty unsavoury stuff (schoolwise) in there but there must be a way of getting it to work safely with Google Apps and not show the dodgy stuff? Does your filtering block content within Google Groups and just let through the safe stuff?
