XenDesktop 5 Catalogue Best Practice

Hi,

 

We have XenDesktop 5 here sat on top of VMware vsphere 5.

I am doing a large update of our pupil catalog and desktop group of machines, and was wondering what method you use?

 

I was hoping to do the following:

Create new catalogue with 130 machines with new catalogue and new VM Machine names.

Add new machines to existing desktop group assignment (Named 'Pupils')

Put the old machines into maintenance mode, shutdown and delete them, and delete the old catalog?

 

Would this be okay, it is quite a major update I have done to the image.

I know you can just "update machines" from within an existing catalogue, but I guess I can't do as seamless a handover with regard to taking old machines out of use.
