Afternoon All,

 

Our domain is controlled centrally by the LEA and each school has it's own OU. It is currently 2008R2 based. We want to install SCCM 2012 but are told we cannot because it is an enterprise product that advertises itself across the whole domain so in theory could have every computer reporting back to it.

 

Is there any way we can install this and only have it listen to a certain OU - that is our Workstation OU? That was it would not affect the whole site but would let us take advantage of the tools it offers.

You can tie it down to an OU yes. You need to change your discovery settings to do this. That way it will only discover your computers.

You also set-up boundry for your ip ranges or ad site only.

You could also restrict this to a specific boundary as well as the OU
