Any known issues with Avast and SIMS performance?

Unfortunately it is not my system. I am trying to diagnose why SIMS is slow for a school we support. I will have a look around Avast but by no means am I familiar with it.

Sorted: School has accepted that it is the AV and are dealing with it.
