Users being forcibly 'kicked out' of IE when running reports

We upgraded to Windows 7 over the summer. I and other users are being forcibly kicked out of Internet Explorer when running reports such as Reports ¬ Lesson Monitor ¬ Whole Group Student Reports. This also happens when we try to print cover arrangements from Cover. I suspect that other similar reports will have the same result. I have noticed that sometimes if IE is already open, the report may open in a new tab but it still tries to close all tabs (this can be bypassed by closing the message window).

If IE isn't open then the report doesn't seem to run at all. When the report does run for me, the address bar displays C:Users\aralph\localsettings\Temp\rpttmp.html. Our Network Manager doesn't allow any staff access to the C drive so could this be where the problem lies? We had no problems last term (on Windows XP).

Anybody else had a similar problem?

You have to have bare minimum access to Temp areas of C. The user profile should at least be able to modify it's own local folder.

Mine is C:/Users/vikpaw/AppData/Local/Temp/rpttmp.html

You also need permission over C:windows\sims.ini , the program files\sims (not full necessarily), windows\temp just to get sims to run reliably.

what happens when you receive an attachment via email, where does that go, it should be a similar folder for the default save - assuming you use Outlook.
