PrimaryTech Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Hi all. I have a Dell PE300T with a redundant psu. Am I OK to connect power to the psu while the server is running? I want to add a second ups as our first one is starting to fail.
Domino Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Yes, absolutely. Both PSUs should be connected with a redundant set - I'm surprised the box hasn't been throwing warnings that it isn't
PrimaryTech Posted September 9, 2013 Author Posted September 9, 2013 I'm surprised the box hasn't been throwing warnings that it isn't It does, on the little lcd on the front no idea why I've never connected the second on, thanks for the reply!
FN-GM Posted September 9, 2013 Posted September 9, 2013 Yep you will be fine, done it a few times. Most parts in the dell can be changed when the server is live. I have changed fans in a Poweredge 2950 when its live (did nearly loose a finger though)
