Minecraft, on a school Domain - good or a menace?

For the record our KS3 EDB Special for boys did allow it but the many of our boys were becoming obsessed with it so we now block it with Impero.

It can teach many different skills. BUT It's so addictive for young people that without proper supervision it's pretty dangerous!

As an avid Minecrafting I can safely say it's not very useful for a LOT of stuff. However, don't let the game sides of it fool you. If you can get everyone to join a local server with restrictions you can teach children about Electronics and computing with Redstone.
