how to check the fequency of a single word in Microsoft Word 2010

Hello Everyone !

 

I am a freelance writer. My client has asked me to write articles in such a way that not even a single word should repeat itself beyond 6 times. I am currently using Microsoft Word 2010 and it does not have any option to count the number of times a word is being used automatically. I have Google searched it but the results suggest using FIND and Replace key. I cannot check each word one by one using the FIND key. If anyone knows the solution then do let me know, i will be quite grateful.

The only way I can think of is to link it to Excel and use Conditional Formatting to either count or colour code words used.

Googling for Duplicate Word Finder seems to throw up a few results.

This is what I did. I copied your post into Word and saved it as a text file. I then opened the file in Excel using space delimiters. Then I sorted by the row. You can see below the frequency of each word. There's possibly an Excel function that will allow you to detect repetitions, maybe a filter. It may work better if you replace spaces with CR/LF so that the list is in a column rater than a row as it will handle more a bigger text file.
