Hi Everyone

Not sure whether this should be in hardware, Internet or Windows 7 forum, but...

Phonicsplay is a subscription website with Flash based games for littleuns to develop their knowledge of phonics. A lot of the games require the kids to drag and drop items to sort them into the correct group. It all works fine on the computers with mouse or laptop touchpad, but when connected to the Smartboard, the whole window moves, not the item. It looks like it doesn't detect the separate items on the page, but I can't understand why it identifies them correctly with the mouse, but not on the IWB. If the window is bigger than the screen (has scroll bars at the side) it scrolls up and down.

Using IE9 with all updates and recently updated SMART drivers. Any suggestions please? It's driving the teachers and therefore me mad :)

Thanks

The following is how I 'fixed' the issue at a few schools I support.

The issue is when you are trying to drag items across the smartboard using your fingers it either scrolls the page up or down in the internet browser or doesn't move at all in third party software.

To resolve this you need to turn off the Touch Panning in Windows 7 either:

  • locally through the Control Panel, or
  • through Group Policy in a domain:

Workstation / computer settings - edit this policy
Computer Configuration - Administrative Templates - Windows Components - Tablet PC - Touch Input
    Turn Off Touch Panning

Hope that helps.
