Hidden A mounted network drive

Hi

 

Am tring to a mount a network driver with the following in a bat file

 

net use x: \\Computer_name\shared_folder_name

 

The problem is when I run the shortcut of the bat file, the a mounted network drive is not shown... So is there any way to show the hidden a mounted network drive.

And do you have permission to:

 

a. Run batch files and...

b. Access the share?

 

If the share is hidden and you are the network admin then it shouldn't be a problem for you to access it once you have sorted these issues out. You do have the authority to do this don't you?

Am trying to run the short cut of the bat file with admin properties. I don't know may the problem relate to the shortcut?

If the drive is hidden i dont think you can do it, i tried to hide the sims drive which i couldnt get to work as the workstation didnt know s drive was mapped. I guess the way to do it is to run the bat file like \\server\....

It sounds like you need to set the following registry value.

 

This problem occurs because UAC treats members of the Administrators group as standard users. When network shares are mapped, they are linked to the current logon session for the current process access token. This means that if a user uses the command prompt (cmd.exe) together with the filtered access token to map a network share, the network share is not mapped for processes that run with the full administrator access token. Copy-and-paste into Notepad, save as EnableLinkedConnections.reg and then double-click the .reg file.
