Google Cloud Printer Driver and Service for Windows

The driver enables you to print from any windows application, while the service allows you to share printers without having to be logged into Windows.

Two new Cloud Print services have been announced by Google. The first is the Google Cloud Print Service which runs as a service on a Windows server and allows administrators to share hosted printers through the Cloud Print system. The printers can then be shared to users within a Google Apps for Education domain.

 

This means that your current classroom printers can be shared through Cloud Print to your Google Apps users without changing any of your internal infrastructure. Access to printers can also be managed through the Google Apps control panel.

 

The second new service is the similarly named Google Cloud Printer Driver. Driver allows Google Apps users to install and print to any Cloud Print printers they have access to from native Windows applications. Now you can printer to Cloud Print printers from Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader or Photoshop. (Source)

I Have been playing with it but cant seem to get the service to work on a server will work on client. But have been using the driver for a while it works really well. Teachers can now print from home.

This service is really good there is one thing that I have found out that must be done for it to work correctly. These firewall rules must be in place or the service will not work correctly.add rule - static ip of google cloud print service pc to http://www.google.com/cloudprint Port tcp/443

add rule - static ip of google cloud print service pc to talk.google.com Port tcp/5222

The second one is really important else the printers will seem like they are offline and you wont get a very good print service. I hope this helps anyone else.
